choco banana almond smoothie

FYI: I didn’t seek out this recipe. I was simply inspired by leftover ice cream (as if ice cream is actually ever ‘left over’) in the fridge. There were bananas in the pantry and I bought almonds to make brownies. I put those three ingredients together then bam! instant smoothie success.

Making a smoothie is always a great way to make fruits a little less boring. And the great thing about smoothies is you can easily tweak the ingredients to fit your tastes, needs and available resources. I made the extra effort of freezing the bananas though which is an optional step on the path to smoothie heaven.
To you my dear smoothie junkie, here’s the recipe.

INGREDIENTS:
1 medium banana
1/2 cup milk/soy milk/almond milk
1/2 cup chocolate ice cream
3 drops almond extract
10 pieces of almond
METHOD:
1. Pour in all the ingredients in a blender until you get a smooth texture.
2. Pour in a glass and top with slivered almonds (if you have any.
3. Enjoy!
